October 27, 1950 We are pleased to announce the results of the recent independence referendums administered in Paris. Pakistan, through a narrow majority, has voted to remain a part of the Indian Commonwealth, amid many celebrations and festivities. Sri Lanka has opted for independence, which shall be established in the coming months. We hope to form a strong, independent nation, which we vow to support and uphold and wish to become allies with. We hope Sri Lanka withstands the test of time, and we wish it the best of luck in the coming years.

February 7, 1951 Delegates have now returned from the recent Constitutional Convention, where they have determined the official structure of the Indian Nation. Inspiration was drawn from the former nation of the United States, another nation that had overthrown the shackles of British tyranny, though certain modifications, of course, were made. The checks and balances concept was retained,
The Indian National Congress (named after the historical body that advocated for the independence of India), our legislative body, is composed of an Assembly and a Senate. -The Assembly, composed of 3 members from each Raashtr, requires a minimum age of 30 and citizenship for at least seven years, and is elected by the lower house, the Senate every two years. Terms last two years. -The Senate, composed of a set number of individuals from each administrative region, requires a minimum age of 25, and is elected by the people using the election system of Single Transferable Vote (STV) every 7 years. Elections for both President and Congress will occur this September.
The President, head of state and commander-in chief, enforces laws, and has a Council of Overseers, each which are the elected executives of the Raashtroon. The ad interim President for the Provisional Government, has declared candidacy for the election this September. He is running with the social liberal and centre-left INC, the Indian National Congress, not to be confused with the governing body. Mohamed Aziz has also declared candidacy for the NMP, the Nationalist Muslim Party, a third party dedicated to creating an independent Pakistan, even after the recent election results. The right-wing BJP, the Bharitaya Janata Party, the other major political party, is soon expected to declare, and the CPI, the Communist Party of India, has also yet to declare a candidate, though is gaining ground among the lower classes.
The National Court of India has also been established, and the aforementioned Raashtroon, administrative divisions, have been drawn up and will also elect Overseers in the upcoming elections. These include North India, East India, West India, South India, Northeast India, East Pakistan, and West Pakistan.
In other news, India and France have partnered to re-open the Suez Canal. Rumors are spreading along the Pakistan border of a radical group of insurgents seeking independence. Police are investigating the validity of these claims, and searching for possible connections to SATO. Sri Lanka is currently undergoing formation of its government, and India plans to withdraw within the year.

We are currently concentrating spending on a powerful navy, that could put even the British to shame. As elections near, Saeed Trivedi, of the BJP, has announced his candidacy, while Abha Kawale has proposed plans for a revitalization of the education system.

Saeed Trivedi and President Abha Kawale have completed their final debate this evening, with several zingers such as these:
"You say we need a stronger military, Mr. Trivedi. Answer me this: millions have died from starvation in the past five years alone, and we have done nothing. Tell me, how many Indians did the bad joke that is SATO kill?"
"Mr. Kawale, you tell me you have a plan for improved health care across the nation, your reasoning being the majority of our population faces poverty. If the majority of our population faces poverty, who's going to pay for the health care?"
"Obviously, Mr. Trivedi, we have different idea about what education means. We need education on how to sustain a job, not education on how to hold a gun."
